In an effort to pursue our vision of becoming “A World-Class Regulator of Electronic and Postal Communications”, the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA), aims at strengthening its capability of promoting access to communication services and products for everyone by strategically responding to the changing electronic and postal communications regulatory environment.

TCRA focuses on creating a regulatory environment, which enhances the digital economy that stimulates development of economic and social sectors in the country.

Looking at the achievements that the communication sector has made so far, it is our responsibility to ensure that digital inclusion is addressed by bringing majority of the population within the footprint of the broadband network.

Amongst other things, TCRA aims at sustaining competitive and conducive environment for the private sector investment; facilitating expansion of network and services, media coverage as well as production of local contents. Moreover, TCRA will continue to enhance postal and courier service infrastructure necessary for e-services and application.

In order to accomplish our Mission, TCRA will continue to enhance consumer awareness through different educational platforms so as to empower them not only in identifying their respective rights and obligations but also to make informed decisions when choosing communication services and products.

Besides, TCRA will maintain a special focus on its employees by making sure that they remain healthy and competent so that they can exercise high level of integrity and accountability when carrying out the Authority’s activities.

Finally, TCRA remains committed into providing quality regulatory services not in isolation but through embracing “regulation by consultation”, as a way to develop and implement effective and efficient regulatory framework.
